Before you begin
- Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit recommended)
- Microsoft Excel 2016 or newer (32-bit or 64-bit)
- Internet connection for AI features
- Your XL++ license key (check your email)

Installation
Download the installer
Click the button below to download the XL++ installer.

Run the installer
Double-click XL++SETUP.MSI. If Windows shows a SmartScreen warning, click More info → Run anyway. Follow the setup wizard — default settings work for most users.
Open Excel
Launch Microsoft Excel. You will see a new XL++ tab appear in the ribbon at the top.
Enter your license key
On first launch, XL++ will ask for your license key. Enter the XLPP-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX key from your email and click Activate. Your 30-day trial starts immediately.
You're ready
XL++ is now active. Click any button in the XL++ ribbon to get started. The AI Agent panel will open automatically on the right side of Excel.
First steps after installation
Import your first dataset
Click XL++ → Import Config to configure your first data import from a CSV, Excel file, or database. Click Get Data to load it into your workbook.
Run your first SQL query
Click XL++ → Advanced SQL. All your Excel sheets are automatically available as tables. Type a SQL query and click Run — results appear in the XL_AdvSQL sheet.
Build your first dashboard
Click XL++ → Dashboard Config, set your data source, add columns, and click Refresh. Add slicers for interactive filtering.

Common issues
XL++ tab not showing in Excel
Go to File → Options → Add-ins → Manage: COM Add-ins → Go. Check that XLRater is ticked. If not, tick it and click OK.
SmartScreen blocking the installer
Click More info on the SmartScreen dialog, then Run anyway. This is normal for new software that hasn't built up a large install base yet.
License key not accepted
Make sure you're entering the full key including the XLPP- prefix. Keys are case-insensitive. If the error persists, contact reachus@xlplusplus.com.
